As a cheerleading coach, I am constantly searching for excellent cheerleading music. The girls on the squad are always suggesting the latest pop songs they hear on the radio, but I look for songs that have a beat that will inspire the girls along with lyrics to match. A good song will get the crowd involved, the girls excited, and give the routine an edge to beat out the competition. Cheerleading music can be found in a variety of places. Sometimes songs on the radio are good enough to choreograph a routine to, but I find that specialty CDs offer the best music. Cds with music that pops and moves quickly, and has appropriate lyrics, is perfect to set a routine to. The girls are constantly impressed by the music I choose and have learned why I am so picky. Hearing a song that makes you want to move and dance the first time you hear it is a beautiful thing. Cheerleading music will either set the tone for the routine and bring the crowd in, or distract the audience and leave the girls moving like robots with little emotion attached, and that is why I take choosing songs so seriously.
