Although I have taken cruises to most of the tropical locations on the planet, I never had a chance to explore the state of Alaska until last summer. We arranged to take a cruise up Alaska's Inside Passage in July, and our ports of call were the cities of Ketchikan Juneau, and Skagway. I enjoyed every aspect of the trip, but my favorite part was the AK flightseeing tour that we took while the ship was docked in Ketchikan. Even though the flightseeing company was not located very far from the cruise ship terminal, they arranged to pick us up right on the dock. This came in very handy because my elderly mother is not able to walk very far at all these days. I was amazed at the pristine rainforest that we saw during our AK flightseeing tour. We flew over a place called Misty Fjords which was deep in the forest and looked so mysterious with all of it's waterfalls and thick tangles of deep green vegetation. Our plane was small and only held six passengers, and the pilot really knew the area well. My favorite part was when we went out over the open ocean a ways and say a large whale jumping in the water.
