The best fly fishing lodge in Alaska is the sort of place a fly fisherman would design for himself if they won the lottery or if money started growing on trees. When my brother and I booked a trip to a fly fishing lodge in Alaska we weren't sure what to expect. Sure the pictures looked nice on the Internet, but a great photographer and little photoshopping can make also anything look good. We were sure that fishing was going to be good and it was, but one of the highlights of our trip was staying in a five-star fly fishing lodge. The lodge was a fly shop, B & B, gourmet restaurant, bar, and secluded cabin all in one. I can still remember waking up each morning to the wafting smells of fresh cooked bacon and rich coffee, coaxing me to emerge from the comfort of my decadently soft bed and cozy hand made quilt. After eating our scrumptious homemade breakfast, which we ate while enjoying a panoramic view that would National Geographic envious, we were greeted by our fishing guide. Not only did put us in the best each day, but he had our flies tied and poles rigged perfectly each morning. The only problem with our trip was that it totally spoiled me from any other type of fishing! Share
