I have been to Destin many times over the years, mostly when I was a kid when my family used to vacation there during the summers so that we could enjoy the white beaches and clear water. But one thing that I always looked forward to was when my dad would take me and my brother deep sea fishing while we were in Destin. We would go down to the marina and jump aboard one of the charter boats in Destin that would take us out miles off of the coast so that we were able to catch some really big fish. The last time we were out there I nearly got pulled overboard while I was trying to reel in a four foot king mackerel. There are many different kinds of other fish that you can catch if you are looking to jump aboard many of the Destin charter boats. The captain and crew of the boat that my father always took us on were very knowledgeable and friendly; they always helped me get my pole rigged up and helped me get some of the bigger heavy fish over the side and on to the boat. They also would clean and filet our fish for us before we left so that we would be able to unwrap them from the packaging and throw them right on the grill. Share
