Use of stainless steel propellers has a great number of benefits over use of other metal propellers. The first benefit that stainless steel propellers have is that it lasts for quite a long period. They can last for long significantly longer than even plastic propellers. These propellers have more strength than other propellers made from other materials. It is worth noting that the strength of these stainless steel propellers comes from the high content of chromium present in steel. This allows steel propellers to resist corrosion in a better way than other metals and plastic. A propeller than can resist corrosion obviously will resist any damage either. Remember that the water that a given boat will move on contains a number of materials, for example, floating icebergs and large floating rock among others. Nevertheless, stainless steel propellers will not get damage even when it is hit by any of these floating objects on water. Stainless steel propellers also are resistant to cavitation damage. Cavitation usually occurs when propeller's blade move in a relatively high speed. This high speed will result to change of water pressure. This will always result to heating of water hence producing bubbles. These bubbles may damage propeller's blade. However, with stainless steel propellers, cavitation will cause no or lesser damage.
